Worship-telling God how much He is worth-is essential to the Christian life and music is an essential element of worship. Each week as we gather to worship together, we confess our faith in word and song.
Worship at Riverside includes a variety of musical styles, utilizing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs as mentioned in the Scripture above. Two Sundays of each month the music we use to worship is what some would term 'traditional'-hymns, psalms and confessions. Our congregation is blessed to have several talented pianists and organists who aid us in worship as we sing.
Riverside also has a number of musicians who make up our Praise Team-they lead worship two Sundays each month. Along with the singers and instrumentalists the congregation sings spiritual songs, hymns and songs in worship.
In addition to music, worship at Riverside includes confessions of faith and Scripture readings and Biblical teaching. Our goal in worship: "Whatever we do in word or deed, we do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."Colossians 3:17 (modified).
